RUSTON, La. - All four major candidates in the upcoming gubernatorial primary will be at a televised debate tonight in Ruston, the last likely chance for that to happen before the election.
Sen. David Vitter, Public Service Commissioner Scott Angelle, Lt. Gov. Jay Dardenne, and Rep. John Edwards are participating in the debate. It's the second and last televised debate Vitter agreed to participate in.
There will be no audience for tonight's debate at Louisiana Tech University, and journalists much watch from a different floor of the building due to the debate's restrictions. Hundreds of students and others signed an online petition demanding the debate be opened, and Louisiana Progress said their organization plans a rally outside the building to protest the exclusion.

WBRZ's Mark Armstrong will be among those allowed to ask the candidates questions. The debate is being moderated by WDSU's Scott Walker and broadcast by KTBS in Shreveport.
