CENTRAL - The legislative aide for a Louisiana representative is suspected of murdering a woman before killing himself in a Central neighborhood Tuesday morning.

The bodies were found in separate vehicles around the 17000 block of Wax Road near Durmast Drive. East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Deputies responded to the call around 6:40 a.m., however it's unclear who reported the incident. Authorities believe the shooting was the result of a domestic incident between a woman and her ex-boyfriend.

The two involved were identified as Larry Warino Jr. and Alyssa Kanouse. The sheriff's office says Warino is suspected of fatally shooting Kanouse before turning the gun on himself and committing suicide.

Warino is listed as a legislative aide for Louisiana State Representative Stuart Bishop of Lafayette Parish.

District Attorney Hillar Moore says mental health issues likely played a role in the incident.

The shooting remains under investigation.
