GONZALES - A 23-year-old man was killed Tuesday morning in a shooting at his home on Black Bayou Road, and two people have been arrested.

Kirpatrick Morrison, 24, and Lauren Donaldson, 22, are booked with first-degree murder in the death of Christopher Goudeau.

Investigators say the three of them were at Goudeau's home together. An argument that turned into a fight led to the shooting, which was reported just after 6 a.m.

The killers were gone by the time deputies arrived at the Black Bayou Road home.

Not long after that, Morrison and Donaldson were involved in a traffic crash in East Baton Rouge Parish. Deputies there realized they were the suspects from Ascension Parish and handed them over.

In addition to the murder charge, Morrison has been booked with aggravated assault.

Both have been booked into the Ascension Parish jail, no bond has been set yet.
