Massive crash shut down I-10 West for hours Monday
BATON ROUGE - Drivers in the capital city were impacted by an early morning crash that occurred Monday near Lafayette.
I-10 West shut down at LA 415 around 10:30 a.m. after a vehicle caught fire following an accident. The interstate didn't reopen until 2 o'clock in the afternoon.
Traffic was being diverted off of the interstate to Highway 415 in Lobdell as emergency crews worked to clear the crash. Congestion lingered along I-10 West throughout Baton Rouge until about 6:30 p.m.

State Police haven't said what caused the vehicle to burst into flames.
