Two rescued after getting lost in wooded area Sunday
BATON ROUGE - Authorities say two were rescued after they got lost while walking along a bike trail in Central Sunday evening.
According to the Central Fire Department, crews were called to the BREC bike trail on Hooper Road around 6:30 p.m. Sunday. Responders learned that two adults had been walking the trail during the day before getting lost.
The fire department says nightfall and declining temperatures left the two in a precarious position as they became lost in the wooded area without flashlights or any other means to help them find their way.
Firefighters with the Central Fire Department and District Six Fire found the two and transported them out of the woods.
