CLINTON – One person was charged in connection with a series of shootings in East Feliciana Parish Wednesday.
State and local authorities announced the arrest during a press conference Wednesday evening.
Ryan Sharpe, 36, is charged with two counts of first-degree murder and one count of attempted first degree murder by EFPSO and and one count of first-degree murder by EBRSO.
Detectives apprehended Sharpe after a pursuit Wednesday afternoon, according to officials. They say Sharpe was armed when he was caught and confessed to the shootings.
Detectives said the investigation is ongoing, so details on the suspect's motive were limited.
> NEW: In documents released to WBRZ Thursday, detectives outlined how bullet casings matched from shooting scenes and surveillance video from the most recent murder this week helped identify the vehicle and Sharpe as a suspect. A surveillance team tracked Sharpe's moves and spotted him in his car Wednesday afternoon leading up to his arrest.
