Teacher arrested after allegedly beating 6-year-old student Friday

BATON ROUGE - School officials are investigating after a 6-year-old with autism was allegedly beaten by a teacher at a Baton Rouge school Friday morning.
The East Baton Rouge Parish School System confirmed it was looking into the incident at Park Forest Elementary late Friday afternoon. A school spokesperson confirmed the child was taken to the school nurse with an injury Friday morning.
The parent tells WBRZ that her son came home with bruises to his head. She also added that her son has autism and is enrolled in a specialized class at the school.
The teacher has been placed on administrative leave pending an investigation.
