Son of Alton Sterling charged with rape of juvenile
BATON ROUGE - The son of Alton Sterling, a man killed by a former Baton Rouge Police officer, has been charged with rape after he allegedly sexually assaulted a juvenile.
Police were called to a local hospital on December 9 to investigate. There, detectives learned that 18-year-old Cameron Sterling allegedly raped the 8-year-old victim while two other children were at the residence.
When questioned about the incident, Sterling initially denied touching the child. Sterling's mother told police that her son is diagnosed with severe depression and bi-polar disorder and believed he may have had a "mental episode."
