Man cited in connection with school bus crash in Prairieville

UPDATE: State police say 29-year-old Ledarrin Walker of Hammond has been cited in connection with Monday morning's school bus crash. 

He was cited for careless operation, driving under suspension, no insurance, no seat belt, and a fake inspection sticker.

Two students were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

ASCENSION PARISH - Authorities say multiple injuries have been reported after a school bus crash early this morning. 

The bus was transporting approximately 20 students to Central Middle School in Gonzales. Two students were transported to an area hospital by EMS and another was transported by their parents, officials say.

The crash occurred on Highway 621 and Tiggy Duplessis in Prairieville.

The school principal was at the scene and all parents were contacted.
