BATON ROUGE - A state foster care caseworker alludes to being told to lie about visiting children in the state's care to meet outrageous goals set by the Department of Children and Family Services.

In an arrest warrant, Kimberly Lee said she created false reports about home visits to children and their foster families in an effort "to getting things done no matter what." Lee told investigators she was told to use buzz words to handle her work load and pressures placed on her by supervisors.

Lee is wanted for twenty counts of filing or maintaining false public records and malfeasance in office. Lee is accused of not making twenty home visits she logged between July 2013 and August 2014.

The Office of Inspector General investigated complaints about Lee made by DCFS.

Court documents were filed in Baton Rouge since DCFS headquarters are there. Lee is from Calhoun, near Monroe, where she handles foster care cases for northeast Louisiana.

DCFS has faced allegations previously that cases were not being handled appropriately. A now deceased state lawmaker planned to tackle what he believed were pressures put on workers to close cases at "an unrealistic and alarming rate." But, State Representative Alfred Williams died before working on new laws.

DCFS has acknowledged some shortcomings and has promised a more open and thorough operation.
