BATON ROUGE – A 19-year-old was arrested for his former roommate's death, deputies said Friday.

David Bueso was charged with second degree murder. Investigators said Bueso beat Jhoel Brizuella, 22, to death in early August inside a Gardere-area apartment.

In records filed at the jail pertaining to the arrest, detectives wrote of a gruesome crime scene where blood had been splattered on walls in the apartment.

Bueso was also tied to burglaries in both East Baton Rouge Parish and the city of Baton Rouge.

Bueso is an illegal immigrant. Federal authorities were notified about his incarceration.
