Full list of school closures ahead of winter weather

WEST FELICIANA PARISH – Public schools in St. Helena and East and West Feliciana parishes will dismiss students early Friday due to the upcoming cold weather.

School officials in St. Helena Parish say schools will close at 2 p.m. to avoid the cold weather threat and ensure students' safety.

Silliman Institute in Clinton is closing Friday at 12:30 p.m.

K and K Christian Academy will close at 3 p.m.

Campuses and offices in the Southern University System will close at 1 p.m. Friday.  The Southern University Labratory School staff will remain at the school until regular dismissal.

The SU Law Center Hooding Ceremony scheduled for 6 p.m. will proceed.

East Feliciana Parish schools will dismiss at 1 p.m., according to school officials.

In Ascension Parish, St. Amant High School will be dismissed at 4:07 p.m. Friday. All other schools will operate at a normal schedule.

Iberville Parish schools will be dismissed early according to the following schedule:

All middle and high school students, North Iberville Elementary, Crescent Elementary and MSA West students from the North area will be dismissed at 12:30 p.m.

All other Iberville Parish students will be dismissed at 1:30 p.m.

In West Feliciana Parish, schools will follow the following early dismissal schedule: 

West Feliciana High School and West Feliciana Middle School will release students at 11:37 a.m.

Bains Lower Elementary will release students at 12:03 p.m.

Bains Elementary will release students at 12:08 p.m.

According to the WBRZ Weather Team, there is a possibility of frozen precipitation in the area and temperatures in the 30's and 40's.
