Fire extinguished at ExxonMobil Refinery
BATON ROUGE - Internal firefighters extinguished a blaze at the ExxonMobil refinery off of Scenic Hwy.
A spokesperson for ExxonMobil told WBRZ that the fire started around 2:30 Wednesday morning.
Firefighters were able to get the fire under control, ExxonMobil announced around 11:45 a.m. that crews had extinguished the fire.
Some employees took shelter at the refinery, however, no injuries were reported.
According to ExxonMobil, air monitoring tests have come back clear and readings are currently below detected limits.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
