Family identifies victim in deadly Kolin Dr. shooting
BATON ROUGE – Deputies say one person is dead after a shooting on Kolin Drive in Baton Rouge Monday morning.
The shooting happened in the 4000 block of Kolin Drive. The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office said one man was found dead after deputies responded to a shots fired call.
Although authorities have not released the victim's name, family members tell WBRZ that Dominic Asberry, 32, was killed in the shooting. Asberry is the brother of Arthur "Silky Slim" Reed, the founder of Stop the Killing Inc.
Witnesses in the area say they heard two bursts of gunfire early Monday morning.
The investigation into the incident is still ongoing.
