Electrical short causes fire on Summit Ridge
BATON ROUGE – Investigators say an electrical short in a meter pan caused a fire at a vacant home in Baton Rouge Saturday afternoon.
According to the Baton Rouge Fire Department, the incident happened around 4:24 p.m. in the 300 block of Summit Ridge. Firefighters arrived at the scene to find a bathroom engulfed in flames.
Firefighters say the fire burned the surrounding area before being contained. The rest of the home suffered smoke damage.

BRFD says no one was living at the home. The fire caused an estimated $25,00 in damages.
