PLAQUEMINE - An investigation is underway in Iberville Parish after a body was found floating in the Mississippi River Monday morning.

Authorities have identified the man as Eugene Hodges. It is believed Hodges died from injuries sustained during a fall. 

Plaquemine Police say individuals on a tugboat spotted the body and called authorities.

Authorities say the water has hampered the identification process.
