Drivers trapped on spillway for hours after I-10W crash Wednesday night
LAPLACE - Travelers driving westbound on I-10 were trapped on the Bonne Carre Spillway for more than six hours after a crash closed the roadway late Wednesday night.
According to WWLTV, "hazardous tanker trucks" were involved in a crash around 11:30 p.m. between the I-310 and I-55 exits, two miles east of LaPlace. A Hazmat crew was on the scene.
Crews started letting cars pass the crash around 5:30 a.m. Thursday morning. The roadway officially reopen to traffic around 9:30 a.m., nearly 10 hours after the original crash.
