GONZALES - Deputies have arrested a man suspected in a deadly shooting earlier this year.

The Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office confirmed Tuesday that Bobby Smith Jr., 21, turned himself and was booked on one count of second-degree murder.

According to officials, deputies were dispatched to a home on North Robert Wilson Road in Gonzales June 8 after a man reported he had been shot. When deputies arrived at the scene, they found 37-year-old Kenneth Brown dead in the driveway of his home sitting in his car.

Smith was developed as a suspect over the course of the investigation and a warrant was signed Monday.

He's being held in the Ascension Parish Jail. No bond has been set at this time.
