METAIRIE- Jefferson Parish Sheriff Newell Normand announced the arrest of two suspects wanted in connection with 8 home burglaries in Baton Rouge and Metairie.

The two suspects are responsible for a home invasion in the Woodgate neighborhood on Apr. 8 where a homeowner was tied up and his car stolen.

According to JPSO, the suspects took jewelry, electronics, firearms and ammunition in the home invasions.

Detectives identified the two as 30-year-old Brian Ernst and 30-year-old Raymond Kimble after a friend helped to “wipe” a computer in order for them to sell it.

Detectives were able to locate an address for Ernst and learned that investigations in Baton Rouge found similar motives in home invasions in the area and found DNA that identified Ernst and Kimble as the suspects.

Ernst was arrested Apr. 14 and confesses to committing the eight burglaries. Ernst told investigators that Kimble assisted in the crimes.

Ernst was charged with eight counts of simple burglary, theft valued between $5,000- $25,000, two counts of possesion of stolen firearms and two counts of illegally carrying a firearm.

Detectives were not able to locate Kimble on multiple attempts. Detectives then sought the help of the US Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Task Force to locate Kimble who was believed to be with his girlfriend.

On Apr. 18, Task Force members saw Kimble and his girlfriend in a Lexus together. The Task Force attempted to stop the car, but the car avoided eluded authorities and resulted in a chase.

Shortly after, the car was located in Metairie where it is believed that Kimble switched from a Lexus to a truck and then later switched back to the Lexus.

The Lexus was found at a home on Forshey Drive where Kimbel was found hiding in a shed behind the home. Kimble refused to leave the shed, but was removed and arrested.

Task Force members also found Kimble’s girlfriend, Lauren Malborough, hiding in the shed.

She was arrested as well and both were taken in for questioning where they did not speak to investigators and asked for attorneys. The were both transported to Jefferson Parish Correction Center.

Kimble was charged with eight counts of simple burglary and resisting arrest. Malborough was booked with resisting arrest and eight counts of accessory to simple burglary.
