PRAIRIEVILLE- At least $25,000 worth of expensive band equipment and lighting kits got swiped from a neighborhood off Highway 73 near I-10 overnight.

The lead singer for the California rock band Pullman Standard stopped in Prairieville Monday night to make a recording when he said someone cut the lock on the trailer with their equipment and hauled it off.

"Came back to the van where we had it parked in the neighborhood and just looked, where's our trailer," Timothy Daniels said. "How's that possible?"

Tuesday, detectives went door to door in the neighborhood where the heist took place. They tried to talk to neighbors to see if anyone saw anything. According to Daniels, the equipment inside was accumulated over the past eight years, and up to $50,000 worth of stuff was in that trailer.

"The number starts multiplying," Daniels said. "Oh yeah...this guitar is in there and it's an expensive guitar, not to mention the priceless things, priceless paraphernalia from fans that have made you cool things. You can't replace that."

Daniels is holding on to those fond memories now. He got his start in the music business eight years ago, and through the course of his career, he's performed with famous artists.

"We tour this country," Daniels said. "We've done 800 plus shows. We've opened for major artists, Kelly Clarkson, Offspring and the list goes on for people we've been a part of their career, and they've been a part of ours."

Tonight, Daniels wonders who would do this as he tries to get his hands on more equipment so he can keep making music. He said he has no hard feelings to Louisiana.

"I love touring," Daniels said. "It's part of being on the road."

Authorities believe the trailer was stolen sometime between 10 p.m. and 3 a.m. overnight. The artist said his equipment was insured under his vehicle policy, but he found out Tuesday that the policy likely won't cover theft.
