Blue Bell confirms listeria found at Brenham plant
BRENHAM, TX - Blue Bell announced Thursday that it has found more possible signs of listeria at its home plant in Central Texas.
A statement from the ice cream producer released Thursday says the company has “identified locations where suspected Listeria species may be present in our facility.” Blue Bell did say the contamination was found in areas of the plant where ice cream is not produced.
The release from Blue Bell goes on to say that they are continuing to sanitize affected areas, and they have found no batches of ice cream that have tested positive for listeria.
Blue Bell ice cream returned to store shelves last month after a lengthy absence due to a listeria outbreak at several of its facilities.
