SCOTLANDVILLE - BREC officials say animals at the Baton Rouge Zoo are safe despite massive flooding in surrounding areas.

Zookeepers were on site during the day to monitor and feed the animals. Some water on the zoo campus was higher than normal due to the large amount of rainfall, but they say evacuation of any animals was not deemed necessary.
