BATON ROUGE- For the second time in two days, another armed robbery has been reported on LSU's campus.

Students got an emergency text this morning at 2:05 a.m. The armed robbery was reported at Blake Hall. The text advised students to stay away from the area.

Authorities say at approximately 1:30 a.m. an LSU student was robbed of an iPhone and a purse outside of Blake Hall by two males. No injuries were reported.

Junior Kaycee Foreman frequently walks around this area.

"I have night classes and I come to the cafeteria [across from Blake Hall] to eat every night," she said.

But after hearing about the crime, Foreman is thinking twice about the route she believed was safe.

"I usually walk alone, so now I'm going to have to find someone to walk with," said Foreman.

No arrests have been made at this time. LSU Police are investigating the incident. In the meantime, the department is asking students and staff to be aware of their surroundings at night.

"At the hours of darkness travel with one or more people, if you are alone, utilize campus transit or after 12 p.m. call LSU Police and we will transfer you to the area," says Lt. Reggie Berry.

LSU Police will be increasing their patrols all around campus at night, meaning officers will be working longer hours.

The first armed robbery was reported Wednesday morning just before 1 a.m. near Kirby Smith Hall.

At this time, police are treating the two incidents as related crimes.
