CLINTON- Accused serial killer Ryan Sharpe pleaded not guilty in two East Feliciana cases Tuesday.

The 36-year-old is accused of killing three men and wounding a fourth in crimes that spanned East Feliciana and East Baton Rouge parishes.

In Tuesday's hearing, Sharpe pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder of Thomas Bass and the attempted first-degree murder of Buck Hornsby.

Bass was found shot to death in his carport on July 8.

Hornsby, who was having plumbing work done by Sharpe, was shot and wounded while exercising outside on Sept. 12.

Sharpe will return to East Feliciana court on Jan. 9 for arraignment in the first-degree murder of Brad DeFranceschi. DeFranceschi, a Boy Scout camp ranger, was shot in the chest Oct. 9 outside his home near the entrance to Avondale Scout Reservation.

Sharpe is also accused of the Sept. 19 first-degree murder of Carroll Breeden in East Baton Rouge Parish. Court records show he has not been formally charged in that case.

Sharpe is expected back in court Jan. 9 for an arraignment in the death of Brad DeFranceschi, according to the East Feliciana district atttorney. East Baton Rouge DA Hillar Moore says a grand jury could meet as early as December to discuss Sharpe's alleged role in Carroll Breeden's death.
