18-wheeler fire blocks multiple lanes on I-12 near Airline Hwy.
BATON ROUGE - An 18-wheeler fire shut down three lanes of travel on I-12 East near Airline Hwy. late Saturday morning.
According to authorities, no injuries were reported. Firefighters with the Baton Rouge Fire Department were called to extinguish the flames.
The right center lane has opened leaving the 2 left lanes blocked on I-12 East at Airline Highway due to a vehicle fire. Congestion has reached the Mississippi River Bridge.

The 18-wheeler involved in the fire has leaked a large amount of diesel near Airline Hwy., according to the Baton Rouge Fire Department.
One lane of I-12 West near Airline Hwy. was also closed due to the fire. It has since been reopened.
