Two arrests made in eight-month investigation after 14-year-old found dead
TANGIPAHOA PARISH - Two people were arrested for the murder of a 14-year-old after an eight-month-long homicide investigation.
The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office announced Friday that Elijah Williams, 20, and Travon Washington, 20, were arrested Friday, Feb. 18, for the murder of Taysia Folse last year.
Williams and Washington will both face charges of first-degree murder.
Washington was reportedly found by detectives in Franklinton at the Washington Parish Jail. He was being held on an unrelated charge of second-degree murder.
Initially reported as a runaway teen last February, Taysia Folse of Houma was found dead in a wooded area east of Ponchatoula on June 30, 2021, deputies say.
The sheriff's office later ruled her death a homicide on August 25, 2021.

To aid in the investigation, the department initially shared a sketch of a "recent" tattoo found on Folse's left arm, asking anyone who recognized the artwork to come forward.
