Victim shot during 2021 armed robbery attempt dies from complications 3 years later

BATON ROUGE - An investigation into an armed robbery from 2021 continues as the victim, who suffered a gunshot wound during the incident, died from complications.
Warren West, 35, died Monday from complications stemming from a gunshot wound he received on February 7, 2021, during an armed robbery.
WBRZ reached out to Baton Rouge Police to learn more about their investigation.
According to police, circumstances surrounding the case has made it difficult for authorities to investigate.
Police say West called for help from a gas station on Florida Blvd that day, telling them he had been shot somewhere downtown. However, police say West was not able to say where the shooting occurred and could not provide any information about his attacker.
Investigators at the time were not able to locate a crime scene.
At this time, there is no information on possible suspects as police say the investigation is ongoing.
