BATON ROUGE - Thursday morning, Mayor Pro Temp Lamont Cole hosted his 7th annual Toy Drive.
Santa Claus was on site helping to pass out the hundreds of toys. There will also be a hot breakfast served with grits, eggs, sausage, and biscuits. Cole says it's all about giving back to the community.
"I believe in every child, no matter what their circumstances, to experience the gift of Christmas. There's a feeling in the atmosphere, a feeling in the air, people feel good, and why not do this for children?", Cole said.
The event took place Thursday, December 21, at Capitol Elementary School from 9am until noon.
