14-year-old girl arrested after sending threatening video to Woodlawn school administrator
BATON ROUGE - Authorities have arrested a 14-year-old girl accused of sending a threatening video that forced officials to increase security at three local schools.
On Tuesday, there was increased security at Woodlawn Elementary, Middle, and High after a threat was made "electronically." Wednesday afternoon, the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's office announced that an arrest had been made.
Authorities say the juvenile sent the threatening video to a school administrator via iPhone airdrop. Investigators say the threat appeared to be a video game showing people standing in front of a building when a gun appears and starts shooting.
The caption on the video said, "be ready Woodlawn."
Officials told WBRZ they believe the video is a copycat of a similar threat made earlier this year.
The unidentified 14-year-old girl was arrested for terrorizing and booked into the juvenile detention center.
