The tracks cross Essen Lane near Perkins and the wreck quickly blocked traffic. Traffic between I-10 and the tracks, headed toward Perkins was stopped. Traffic on the opposite side of the tracks was stopped, too, as cars waited to cross over the tracks toward I-10.
According to witnesses, the driver was stopped on the tracks in traffic and had nowhere to go.
"I heard brakes, and I looked outside the shop and I noticed it was spun away from the railroad tracks," Chuck Jack told News 2.
There were no serious injuries, but a woman was transported by ambulance to the hospital after the scene cleared.
Police tell News 2 the driver of the car will be ticketed for not following signs posted near the tracks.
