BATON ROUGE - Baton Rouge Police have arrested a suspect in connection to the shooting death of 33-year old Candis Burton.

Carlton Williams, 37, was taken into custody. Investigators believe Williams shot Burton as she was involved in a verbal altercation. The incident happened Saturday around 2 p.m. in a parking lot on Lone Oak Drive.

Burton died at the scene.

Williams has been booked into the EBR Parish Prison facing charges of Second Degree Murder and Illegal Use of a Weapon.
