BATON ROUGE - Officials identified a body found near the Baton Rouge fairgrounds along Airline Highway Wednesday morning. 

Deputies with the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office said the body, later identified as Andromeda Kirkland-Walls, was reported after 9:30 a.m. in a wooded area behind the Airline Highway Park. The park lies on the border between Ascension and East Baton Rouge parishes.

In an emotional Facebook video, her mother, Oriendia Greer, said "She was the sweetest, most respectful child I gave birth to." 

Kirkland-Walls was a mother of two.

"They ain't ever going to see their mommy again," Greer said.

The coroner's office said Friday Kirkland-Walls died of blunt force injuries to her head and neck, and that her death was being investigated as a homicide. 

"That's my youngest child. It hurts so bad. Forgive me if you're watching me cry, because she ain't never hurt nobody," Greer said.

Her mother reminded her viewers not to take time with loved ones for granted.

"I am so grateful I got the chance to see her on Monday at the store, and buy her some snacks that she loved," Greer said.
