Rash of violence Monday leaves 3 dead, 6 hurt across Baton Rouge
BATON ROUGE - Five separate shootings across Baton Rouge killed three people Monday, and left six others hurt.
Baton Rouge police officers responded to a shooting around 11 a.m. at the OYO Hotel along Airline Highway near the I-12 on-ramp. Police said the shooting stemmed from a domestic situation, and a woman is facing charges.
Around 1:20 p.m., a juvenile was among three people hit by gunfire Monday in a neighborhood near Florida Boulevard. Officers found the victims on Marque Ann Drive and La Annie Drive. Two of the people hurt, ages 17 and 18, are expected to face charges once they're released from the hospital.
Two teenagers were shot around 3:40 p.m. while standing outside a home on North 39th Street. A 17-year-old, Alonzo Jefferson Jr. died in a hospital hours later, according to the coroner. The other teenager was taken to a hospital, but is expected to be okay.
An hour later, 36-year-old Charles Wyble was shot by his father during a domestic situation at a home along Kleinpeter Road. Wyble was transported to a nearby hospital where he later died during surgery.

Monday night police responded to a double shooting along Eddie Robinson Drive around 10:30. Officials reported one of the victims, 59-year-old Idris-Abdul-Malik, was killed and another was in critical condition.
