Upcoming meetings to discuss I-10 improvements, BR streetcar
BATON ROUGE - Traffic improvement plans will be discussed at a series of meetings next week in the Greater Baton Rouge area.
Planners and engineers will discuss two projects at separate meetings. The state will hold open house public meetings about improvements to the I-10 corridor from Essen Lane to La. 415 in Port Allen. The city of Baton Rouge will hold two informational sessions about plans to build a streetcar line from downtown to LSU.
On Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, the state will talk about the interstate project. DOTD officials along with engineering and traffic experts will present regional engineering and traffic study results based on input from the initial round of public meetings in August and September 2015. The meetings are at McKinley Middle Magnet School, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Addis Community Center, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday at the Baton Rouge Marriott Hotel, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, the city will discuss the streetcar at the McKinley Alumni Center on Tuesday evening from 6:00- 8:30 and the Louisiana Art and Science Museum on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
