ST. AMANT - An Ultra Light plane went down in St. Amant Sunday evening.

Witnesses told the Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad they saw the plane drop from over 100 feet in the air.

The pilot sustained moderate injuries and is being treated in a local hospital.

The Sheriff's Office did confirm, this is not the first time this pilot has crashed. He crashed into the diversion canal a few weeks ago.

His name has not been released pending the notification of his family.
