Two shot in overnight robberies in Baton Rouge
BATON ROUGE - Police say robberies led to two people being shot in Baton Rouge overnight.
According to the Baton Rouge Police Department, both shootings occurred sometime between late Thursday and early Friday.
Police say the first shooting occurred on Monarch Avenue around 8:30 Thursday night. On Friday, police revealed that the shooting occurred during a robbery. The victim was taken from the scene with life-threatening injuries but is expected to survive, according to authorities.
A second shooting occurred near the cross of Scenic Highway and Blount Road after 2 a.m. Friday. Police say that victim was shot in the arm during an attempted robbery and is also expected to survive.
