IBERVILLE PARISH- A 61-year old man was killed this evening, after a train smashed into his car.

It happened on LA 1, near the Rocky Canal. Iberville Parish Sheriff Brett Stassi told WBRZ, that's between White Castle and Donaldsonville and is on the Iberville and Ascension Parish Lines. 

Stassi said the man crossed the tracks when a train approached at a high rate of speed. The man died at the scene.

His name has not been released.
