Suspect in Baton Rouge murder arrested in Vermilion Parish, taken back to EBR
UPDATE: State police have apprehended 40-year-old Willie Mitchell in connection with the deadly shooting earlier this month.
Mitchell was arrested in Vermilion Parish and transported back to East Baton Rouge Parish Thursday morning to face charges of first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder.

BATON ROUGE - One person is dead and another is injured after a shooting off Gus Young Avenue Friday evening.
According to the Baton Rouge Police Department, detectives are investigating the shooting that claimed the life of 56-year-old James Young of Baton Rouge and critically injured another 43-year-old man.
The incident occurred around 6:15 p.m. in the 1700 block of North 47th Street near Gus Young. Both men were outside the residence playing dominoes, when an unidentified individual walked up and began shooting, according to BRPD.
No motive or suspect has been identified at this time. Anyone with information on this shooting is urged to contact the Violent Crimes Unit at 225-389-4869.
