MONROE - The son of Louisiana's State Police superintendent, who is also a trooper, killed two people in a crash in north Louisiana Thursday night.

Kaleb Reeves, the son of Col. Kevin Reeves, was involved in the crash while on duty and while driving a Louisiana State Police vehicle, sources told the WBRZ Investigative Unit. State Police confirmed that Friday.

Reeves rear-ended a vehicle with four passengers killing two of them in the back seat.

The deceased rear-seat passengers are identified as 11-year-old An-Janne Lindsey and 18-year-old Kajenne Lindsey, both of Monroe.

Trooper Reeves was properly restrained and was not injured.

The driver and front seat passenger of the car the two victims were riding in received moderate injuries. They were transported to a hospital.

The crash happened on US 165 in Richwood, a community just outside and south of the Monroe city limits.  

State Police have not responded to questions about the wreck. Sources said Kaleb Reeves was at-fault.

The Reeves are from the northeastern Louisiana area.

A Monroe TV station, KTVE, reported on its website, the crash involved a trooper and had pictures of a mangled crash scene.
