Public memorials honor slain EBRSO deputy
BATON ROUGE – Flags outside the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office are at half-staff Monday to honor the deputy that was killed Saturday.
Sergeant Shawn Anderson was killed Saturday outside an O’Neal Lane hair salon. He was investigating a rape report when he struggled with another man and was shot.
Anderson’s fellow deputies moved his EBRSO vehicle to the front of the administrative headquarters Monday so the public can pay their respects. By noon, a single bouquet of flowers was placed on Anderson's vehicle.

In addition to the deputy's parked vehicle, a makeshift memorial has grown outside the hair salon where Anderson was shot. Authorities have not released any information about funeral arangements.
The man accused of killing Anderson, Brandon Wiley, remains hospitalized from injuries he received in the struggle. Wiley has not been charged with Anderson’s death at this time but was booked remotely on other charges.
