Report: Suspect in rampage has criminal history
PLAQUEMINE - The suspect accused of killing a police officer and a women in St. Landry Parish Wednesday had been arrested earlier this year in Iberville Parish.
KATC TV, the ABC affiliate in Lafayette near where the shooting happened, reported Harrison Lee Riley was arrested for illegal carrying of weapons and illegal possession of a stolen firearm in January. Specific information about the arrest was not available overnight Wednesday.
Riley has been arrested 14 times. The state said Riley has never been convicted in Louisiana, but spent at least ten years in Texas prisons for crimes in the Houston area.
