BATON ROUGE - Police said a 20-year-old shot and killed a teenager overnight while on FaceTime, a video chat system for smart phones.

Gerald Levi, 17, was killed.  Later, police arrested Byron Davore, 20, of Tennessee Street.  Davore was charged with negligent homicide.

Police released new information about the shooting Saturday.  The shooting happened at a home near where Devore lived on Old South Baton Rouge just before 10 p.m. Friday.  Levi was shot as Devore was holding the gun while video chatting, police said.  Levi died at a hospital.

Friends of the family said Levi was a track star at McKinley High School.

A rally is planned for the Old South Baton Rouge area later Saturday.
