BATON ROUGE - Police have released the name of the man fatally struck by a vehicle Thursday evening off Highland Road while he was riding his bicycle.

The incident was reported around 7:30 p.m. on West Grant Street, located off Highland Road near State Lumber & Hardware.

BRPD says 41-year-old Ronney Thomas of Baton Rouge was riding his bicycle on W. Grant Street when he was hit by a 2009 Chevrolet Impala. Thomas died at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
