CENTRAL - Police have identified a truck involved in a deadly hit and run Friday, but they have not made any arrests.

The Central Police Department released surveillance footage of the vehicle: a red, four-door pick-up truck.

Police have identified the victim as 38-year-old Ryan Russell of Central. He was pronounced dead Friday night at the scene of the crash, which happened on Joor Road near Comite Hills West.

Police said Russell stopped his vehicle, got out and began "retrieving items from the road that had apparently fallen out of the bed of his truck."

Witnesses told officers that Russell was standing in the center turn lane of the road when he was hit by another truck. The vehicle that hit Russell reportedly fled the scene.

Louisiana State Police and the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office were also involved in the investigation.

Anyone with information on the incident or the suspect's vehicle should call the Central Police Department at 225-367-1254.
