Police identify suspect in deadly Old Hammond Highway shooting
BATON ROUGE - Police say one man is arrested in connection to a deadly shoting on Old Hammond Highway earlier this week.
The shooting happend around 3 p.m. Tuesday in teh 11800 Block of Old Hammond Highway. Baton Rouge Police say 22-year-old Jerrid Davis was shot in the abdomen and transported to a local hospital. Police say Davis was found lying in the roadway suffering from a gunshot wound.
Davis later succumbed to his injuries.
Detectives say 24-year-old Mervell Carter was arrested Thursday and will be booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison for second-degree murder.
