PLAQUEMINE, La. - A Plaquemine man is dead after a crash Sunday morning around 1:00 a.m. on LA Hwy 1148 in Iberville Parish, according to Louisiana State Police Tpr. Jared Sandifer.

Sandifer says 38-year-old Lamar Phillips was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Impala westbound on LA Hwy 1148 when the car ran off the roadway at a curve and struck a tree.

Phillips was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash but received fatal injuries from the crash, according to Sandifer.
