One murder, shooting and stabbing keep police busy Wednesday morning
BATON ROUGE - Police had worked three shootings - including one where someone died - by 10 a.m. Wednesday.
All crime scenes were in the area around Old South Baton Rouge. Two were off Highland Road, the third was in an upscale area around the lakes in City-Brooks Park.
First, police said 18-year-old Keondrae Ricks was shot in the 1900 block of Nebraska Street just after midnight. Ricks died at the scene. His body was found in the street.
Hours later, just before 10 a.m., a man was found shot in the neck in a car parked near the lakes at the corner of E Lakeshore and May. Information about the shooting can be found HERE.
Almost simultaneously, a woman was found stabbed on Tennessee Street. Police were still working to gather details on both the Tennesse Street and lakes shooting as of 10:30 Wednesday morning.
McKinley High was on lockdown as a precaution while worked the crime scenes. It was unclear as to which situation prompted the school to go into its most secure mode.
