BATON ROUGE - Baton Rouge Fire officials are looking into multiple separate fires that sprung up across the Baton Rouge area overnight.

The first fire happened around 10:30 Saturday night at a home on Shelby Drive, off Florida Boulevard. Firefighters arrived on scene to find heavy smoke and fire coming from the back of the house.

The second fire happened just before midnight at an apartment building on Berrybrook Drive, off S Harrells Ferry Road. Crews arrived to the scene to see heavy smoke and fire coming from the building's garage.

The third fire happened just after 2 a.m. Sunday on Madrid Avenue, off S Choctaw Drive. Crews arrived to see fire coming through the roof of a vacant building.

In each of the fires, crews were able to contain the flames before they spread to nearby structures, and no one was hurt.

The cause of all three is under investigation, and officials say they don't appear to be connected.
