CLINTON - Authorities in Clinton are investigating a deputy-involved shooting that happened Friday in East Feliciana Parish.

The call came in around 9:30 Friday night for an incident on Jackson Street.  Sources tell WBRZ someone fired at a deputy and that deputy returned fire, killing the shooter.

Family members identified the man killed as 28-year-old Myron Flowers. The coroner's office said Tuesday that Flowers died from multiple gunshot wounds.

According to East Feliciana Sheriff Jeff Travis, no deputies were injured during the incident. The deputy involved in the shooting was identified as Cullen Wilson.

Officials also said a Clinton police officer, identified as Richard Boudin, had stopped to assist the deputy in the traffic stop. He is currently on administrative leave according to the police chief.

The East Feliciana Sheriff's office stated that this will be a joint investigation between their office and Louisiana State Police.
