BATON ROUGE - Already, people living in one area of the city are frustrated with violence in 2016.

"This community doesn't deserve it. It's frustrating," East Baton Rouge Parish District Attorney Hillar Moore said two nights ago at the scene of the first murder within city limits this year.

On North 23rd Street Thursday, people talked about a day when there won't be the usual sights of police and crime investigators. This week, Tyrell George was gunned down there.

"This is where I was born and raised, and all this that's going on, shouldn't be going on," Renee Truvillion told WBRZ reporter Brett Buffington. "It's crazy how these people are dying like this."

Around her home, there has been a steady stream of murder investigators. And, they've not only been looking into the death of George. Since the summer, there have been numerous deadly shootings in the area.

"It's something that we really need to pay attention to," Moore said at the scene of the latest murder this week.
